About the 2nd Ward Democrats
Who We Are
The 2nd Ward Democrats is a Political Party Committee that supports our elected Democrats at the municipal, county, state, and federal levels. Following the election of Democratic Committeemen Tim Egan in 2016, the 2nd Ward Democrats were formed out of a desire to support the highly-qualified elected officials whose districts bisect the Ward.
We are an organization of passionate people like you, who want to fight for the elected officials and policies that benefit all of us. Whether you have been politically active all your life, or have never stepped foot in a campaign office before, we have opportunities for you to get involved.
Committeeman Tim Egan
2nd Ward Democratic Committeeman Tim Egan (pictured above) was elected in March 2016 to help ensure our Ward is well-represented in Chicago and Cook County political affairs. Committeeman Egan has a background in healthcare and hospital administration and currently serves as CEO of the New Roseland Hospital on Chicago's Far South Side.
A father of four sons, Committeeman Egan can be found picking up and dropping off his sons at school on weekdays and coaching their baseball teams throughout the year.

Committeeman Egan graduated from University with a journalism degree after playing four years of college basketball. As an athlete, he wanted to stay fit and began playing rugby with the Westside Condors in Chicago. One of his teammates was a physical therapist at a big university hospital. As he watched his rugby team travel all around the world, he decided to give up his journalism career. He was able to begin his healthcare career and join his teammates on tours to Ireland, France, Spain, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, and New Zealand.
