What is the deadline for registering to vote?
In Illinois, voter registration is always open. You can register to vote anytime, up to and including Election Day.
Am I eligible to register to vote?
To register to vote in the upcoming election, you must meet all of the following qualifications:

Be a U.S. citizen

Be 18 on or before the upcoming election date

Live in your precinct at least 30 days before the election

Not claim the right to vote elsewhere

Not currently be in prison/jail serving time for a conviction. Ex-convicts who have been released from prison/jail - including those currently on parole/probation - and who meet all other requirements listed above are eligible to register and vote in Illinois.
What kind of identification do I need?
You will need any TWO of the below forms of identification, ONE of which lists your current address. You may use an IL state ID and/or IL driver's license to register at your new address, even if the ID lists your old address.

AT YOUR PRECINCT POLLING PLACE ON ELECTION DAY
You may register or update your registration and vote the same day on Election Day - just make sure to bring 2 forms of accepted ID.
